By the time we get to truly unwind, we've packed in a lot of stuff. This is how it goes in my head: "Hmm, four weeks off. Will I go to the beach (which I haven't seen since 2019)? Should I clean out the kitchen cupboards? The yard maintenance is more urgent. It would be great to invite friends over for a barbie. Or I could catch up on admin. I'd rather catch up on sleep. But what about a holiday somewhere? It doesn't have to be far. Or long. Just a holiday away ..."

When I first experienced Winter Magic, it reminded me of another large and colourful festival on the other side of the world – Italy's Ferragosto.

Our first half of this year has been busy! Between tailored Italian cooking classes celebrating milestone birthdays from group sizes 4 to 13 (!!), classes that see our regulars coming back to learn more or fun day trips to the state forest, we have had an exciting six months. Amongst all of this, we have continued our collaboration with Blue Mountains Gin Company, bringing you "Italian Night at the Factory Bar" monthly.

We tried it the week before Christmas and were pleasantly surprised to see how swiftly people responded, the event being fully booked out within two days of going live. The same has happened each time, demonstrating that the locals are looking for good food in an intimate location for a reasonable price.
