When can I check in?

We are very flexible with check in and out times. Most of the time the house will be ready first thing in the morning, and late check outs are common. This makes us stand out from the crowd where you are OUT by 10am on the dot! 

The exception to this is when we have back to back bookings in which case check out
is at 11am.

Security Bond, Cleaning Fee & House Rules

Itemised on your booking shopping cart, and due to Covid 19, a cleaning fee is payable on all bookings. A security bond is mandatory and payable on booking to secure your dates. The balance is due 5 working days before arrival.  The bond is fully refundable post checkout within 10 working days, pending observance of the House Rules. See this link for details. When booking for a group, please ensure everyone reads these rules. You don't want to be stuck being penalised for one of them :)

Can extra people stay?

The house can accommodate eight guests. Please note, unless otherwise stated, rates are based on two guests.

Only the number of people who have booked are permitted to sleep in the house. Due to strict Covid 19 cleaning protocols, other bedrooms will be locked. Booking additional guests once you have arrived at the house is possible. See Security Bond and House Rules. Or see www.trybooking.com/YCAN 

What should I bring?

• Bread and any food you will eat.

• Layers of clothes inc. hat, scarf, gloves, sox, closed shoes, jacket

Where do I pick up the keys from?

Self check in on the numbered keypad which is located to the right of the front door.

A code is texted to you on the day of your arrival.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is NOT permitted inside. Any smoking outside must ensure butts are fully extinguished and put in the bin. Fines apply as you are in a World Heritage Area.

For safety precautions, open flame candles, fires or gas or charcoal bbq are not permitted to be lit under any circumstances. 

 

Fundraising Prizes

Non-profit organisations holding a fundraiser may be interested in a Two Night Stay in the Blue Mtns raffle or auction prize. The organisation purchases one night's Katoomba accommodation at Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat, and we donate a second night.

$280 for 4 guests, valued at $600.

$190 for 2 guests, valued at $300.

An Italian Cooking Class Experience for 4 guests may be purchased for $200. Valued at $400. Enquire here.

Special Interest Groups

If you are part of a Special Interest Group, looking for a place to meet for a Think Tank, sharing creative ideas, to write, read or make something as a group – Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat will suit up to 10 people comfortably for a day trip.   With tons of warmth and attention to detail, you get the whole place to yourselves and makes a great alternative to large hotels, guest houses and shared accommodation venues.
