Join our Mushroom Foraging Event where we visit the state forest under the expert guidance of my mother. She has a life time experience of gathering, preserving and cooking mushrooms.

About the Event
As part of this event, we will: • show you what is safe to pick • demonstrate how to prepare, cook and store mushrooms, plus a recipe card to take home • provide lunch in the forest which will include mushrooms • and you take home what you find.
Meet at Minni HaHa Falls Reserve and you drive yourself to the forest, following our car. We will have room for two passengers in our car. Please note, we will be driving on unsealed roads at times that are not suited to low-riding cars.
In the event of bad weather, or last-minute road closures, we will run cooking demonstrations at Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat on all things mushrooms, instead. From mushroom-based sauces, button mushrooms filled with pesto, pickled mushrooms and more.
