About the Event
As part of this event, we will • show you what is safe to pick • demonstrate how to prepare mushrooms for preserving, plus a recipe card to take home • provide lunch in the forest which will include mushrooms • give you tips on when to forage • and you take home what you find. Not to mention you'll get to taste our very morish preserved mushrooms on our freshly baked bread^ .
Meet at Millionth Acre Recreation Area Hampton.* Please note, we will be driving on unsealed roads for a short distance that are not suited to low-riding cars.
In the event of bad weather, or last-minute road closures, we will run cooking demonstrations at Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat on all things mushrooms, instead. From mushroom-based sauces, button mushrooms filled with pesto, pickled mushrooms and more.
